Applications are invited from Indian nationals belonging to scheduled categories (SC, ST, OBC, job EWS and PwD (VH, OH, job HH)) under unique recruitment drive for job the post of Assistant Professor in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, job Cognitive Science, Computer Technology and Engineering, Design, Earth Sciences, Economic Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, Space, Planetary & Astronomical Sciences & Engineering (SPASE), Sustainable Energy Engineering, and Kotak School of Sustainability.

Several Departments also participate in the mentor and research study activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science Program. Appointments for these programs are made in the appropriate departments amongst those noted above.

Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with very first class or equivalent (in regards to grades, and so on) at the preceding degree in the proper branch, with a great scholastic record in all preceding degrees. For a fresh Ph.D, the position will be on contract basis for the very first three years, and can be regularized later on. For those with 3 or more years of post-PhD teaching/research/industrial experience, routine visit can be made.

The Institute follows booking in direct recruitment as per the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The existing unique drive advertisement is to fill up 56 backlog vacancies in reserved categories till 31st December 2024.

Other info:

1. The pay brings all other allowances as permissible to a Central Civil servant stationed at Kanpur.

2. The benefits, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transport allowance, kids education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone expenses, book grants, HRA (if housing not offered), research initiation grant (up to Rs 25 lakhs with the provision to use for a supplemental grant) and job monetary support towards nationwide and worldwide conferences shall be allowed according to the Institute standards.

3. From its internal resources, the Institute provides an additional top-up wage of Rs 25,000/- per month for the very first three years of service to the recently joined professor. After 3 years of service, the professors member(s) are eligible for factor to consider for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for professors of age upto 40 years) providing a top-up income of Rs.15,000/- per month for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions offering a top-up wage of Rs 25,000/- per month for 3 years. Both the positions are used based on efficiency.

4. Traveling allowance for joining: job The Institute will repay international travel expenses for the freshly joined professors member and dependent member of the family to the maximum limit of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel reimbursement will be as per federal government rules.

5. The Institute makes every effort to provide housing to all members. Your houses are geared up with free high-speed web.

6. Mere eligibility will not entitle a prospect for being required interview.

7. Applicants who do not satisfy the minimum experience requirements might be provided an appointment on agreement. The requirements of minimum credentials and/or experience may be relaxed in the case of prospects with impressive credentials.

8. The Institute follows the booking in direct recruitment based on the arrangements of the Central Educational Institutes (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019. The candidates are needed to send the Caste/ Category/ Disabilities Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India for this function. The Institute follows the Central list when it comes to SC/ST, OBC & PwD.

11. Applicants required and job appearing in interview will be paid to and fro economy air fare/train fare by the fastest path (within India) and taxi fare from Lucknow airport to IITK and back. Please note that the quantity of fare will be remitted through electronic transfer by our Accounts Section after processing the claim. Local hospitality will be taken care of by the Institute.

12. Applicants who are employed in Government or Semi-Government Organizations will be required to produce a “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” from their company at the time of the interview.
